July 2018, I went back to Greece as a photographer with Help Refugees and stayed in Lesvos for a couple of weeks.
Around 8,000 people were stuck in Moria. I had heard a lot of bad things about the camp and that’s why I decided to go and check it for myself. When I went inside of the camp, I was surprised to see people invite me for lunch, when their food wasn't even enough for them. I have heard many humbling stories which we don't see in media generally, and I have also heard stories from the other-side about the fighting in the camp, caused by stress and tension after being stuck in Moria for months. Here are some of the photos I took during my time in Lesvos.
